Ruby‘s expertise is in media and marketing strategy development. Her background in media research, planning and buying was enhanced by a pioneer entry into digital media in the mid- 1990’s. This robust experience enables her to offer clients a unique and valuable cross-platform perspective.

After traditional media roles at a variety of NYC full-service advertising agencies, the bulk of Ruby’s career was with Horizon Media, the largest independent US media services company. In a variety of leadership and business development positions there, Ruby helped grow the company’s billings over the years by building and managing three of the company’s divisions – Planning, Out of Home and Digital; expanding company capabilities, offerings and client activity in all these areas. Ruby’s innate sense of curiosity made her an early adopter, mesmerized by the advent of technology and the impact it was sure to have on media and marketing. As an evangelist she migrated colleagues and clients into digital and cross-platform initiatives, developing training programs in digital marketing strategies and best practices.

Ruby effectively collaborates with all members of the marketing ecosystem — clients and their agencies and a myriad of technology, media and research partners. Her dedication to client service is paramount to her reputation as a passionate, innovative and resourceful marketing expert.

Working with clients like A&E, History, Geico, Ace Hardware, Bank of Montreal, IKEA and countless others, she led their shift into online, video, mobile, gaming, digital out-of-home and social media. She continues to evaluate the impact technology trends have on consumer media habits and what brand marketing programs today need to achieve to break through.

Ruby is a member of AWNY (Advertising Women of NY) and was named AWNY “Working Mother of the Year” in 2008. She has served as a mentor in the AWNY Mentoring Program since 2009 and was a founding member of Nielsen’s A2/M2 Television/Internet Convergence Committee.

In the non-profit world Ruby has volunteered as a mentor for the PresenTense Group, an organization offering resources and connections that engage and inspire creative young minds, investing in their ideas and energy to revitalize their communities. Ruby also mentors college grads and young professionals on how to enter the workforce or make successful career changes. Ruby volunteers with Dorot, an innovative leader in mobilizing volunteers of all ages to address the challenges of an aging society alleviating social isolation among the elderly, and providing services to help them live independently as valued members of the community. Ruby offers technology tutoring services to Dorot seniors, and to other elderly citizens in her community through The JCC of Manhattan Engage program, Tech Soup. She has also served as a peer mentor to Alzheimer’s caregivers, through the NYU Langone Medical Center Peer Mentor program.

Ruby lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with her husband Joseph, a wealth management advisor at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch. She has two sons, Benjamin, a product manager at MLBAM, and Aaron, senior manager of audience development at Digiday – The Authority on Digital Media, Marketing and Advertising. Looks like her progeny are following in Mom’s footsteps!
